About Andrea

Nice to meet you

Andrea Naomi Counsellor in Sea to Sky

My name is Andrea Naomi Zimmering, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I have completed a Masters in Counselling (MC) degree through City University of Canada.

I come to this line of work passionate about providing support to individuals seeking change and growth. I strive to show up with integrity in my work and ensure that my clients feel seen, heard, and safe to show up authentically as they are throughout the counselling process.

Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked as a holistic nutritionist with a special focus on intuitive eating and Health at Every Size. I am also a 200-Hour Certified Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher.

Working in the health and wellness field for over five years has been a gift. In my career I make it a priority to actively engage in ongoing educational trainings and supervision to ensure that I can provide supportive and beneficial counselling services.

As your therapist my focus is on making you feel comfortable and at ease while in session. In a session I will work collaboratively with you to establish meaningful insights and solutions to your present challenges.

As an integrative therapist, I draw on various therapeutic theories and approaches. Every session we have together provides a unique opportunity to address your present challenges with different tools and strategies. A central focus of my work is helping to enhance mind-body connection, mindful awareness and nervous system regulation.

In my practice I utilize therapeutic techniques from the following models: emotion focused therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, somatic-based therapy and parts work.
